The United Nations in a Changing World

October 19, 2021

The past year has shown that global issues of climate change, pandemics, and great power struggles will require greater international cooperation across borders. Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General, will address the role of the UN in this changing world, and its ongoing efforts to foster and strengthen global cooperation.  What can the International Community do to better address growing global challenges while continuing to seek to prevent war and conflict?

Stéphane Dujarric is the Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres. He was appointed to this position in February of 2014 by the previous Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon. Dujarric had previously served as Spokesman for United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan from 2005 to 2006. Before joining the United Nations in 2000, Dujarric worked for ABC News television for close to ten years in various capacities in the network’s New York City, London and Paris news bureaux.
