March 25, 2026
Event begins at 6:15 PM, Doors open 5:45 PM
The Cleveland Committee on Foreign Relations (CCFR) is exclusive to Diplomat and Ambassador members and their guests. An email with registration information has been sent to eligible members on Friday, March 13.
The first few months of 2026 have seen the executive branch of the United States test the limits of its authority to use force against international actors – from the U.S. maritime bombing campaign against suspected drug boats, to the military incursion into Venezuela, to significant military action against Iran. Each has raised serious questions about compliance with U.S. domestic law and, increasingly, international law as well.
CCWA is honored to host Tess Bridgeman, Co-Editor in Chief of Just Security. Her presentation will help us understand the legal framework that governs how and when a President can use military force overseas, historical precedents, and the role of Congress.
The Cleveland Committee on Foreign Relations is a dinner and dialogue series that provides unparalleled access to top experts and diplomats for candid discussions of today’s most pressing international issues. Participation is exclusive to Diplomat and Ambassador members and their guests. To join, renew, or upgrade your membership, please click here.
