Professional Development Workshop for Educators: Global Education and Experiential Learning

May 16, 2023

Event begins at 12:30pm

The Cleveland Council of World Affairs and the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio are collaborating to support educators who teach global issues and current events in classrooms with a new experiential learning opportunity – a Diplomacy Simulation.

The Diplomacy Simulation engages participants in learning how negotiations work within a diplomatic context. The workshop is for middle and high school educators in Social Studies, History, ELA, Media Literacy, World Languages, or anyone interested in global education and international studies.

Participants in this session will:

  • Use negotiations, consensus-building, and diplomacy to solve a global problem
  • Learn how Diplomacy Simulations build skills in critical thinking, teamwork, and collaboration
  • Learn about CCWA’s Global Education resources for your classroom

All participants will receive 2.5 contact hours for educator license renewal.
