Cleveland International Film Festival: Freedom on Fire

March 25, 2023

Event begins at 2:20 PM

The Cleveland Council on World Affairs is honored to partner with the Cleveland International Film Festival in the showing ofΒ Freedom on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom. Join us in experiencing this groundbreaking documentary, which can be screened at the Allen Theatre on Saturday, March 25, or streamed online from April 2 through April 9, 2023. The film follows the war in Ukraine from a ground-level view, focusing largely on the experiences of average citizens as they live through the 2022 invasion. It explores both the vast destruction and inspiring recovery, while also portraying the Russian totalitarianism that led to the war. From Oscar and Emmy-nominated director Evgeny Afineevsky, and narrated by Hellen Mirren, Freedom on Fire delivers an intimate and stirring look at the Ukrainian people’s effort to defend their freedom.
