July 23, 2026
Event begins at 5:30pm
This event is exclusively for members of CCWA. Space is very limited, so please only register if you are able to attend. If the event has reached capacity, please email jconnell@ccwa.org to be added to the wait list.
If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at representing a nation’s interests on the diplomatic stage, this event is for you! Created by CCWA’s Education Team and drawing upon real world issues, this diplomacy simulation gives participants the chance to act as ambassadors seeking to solve a water rights conflict underlaid by a tense border dispute. Not an easy task! You will have to work with your allies, and your enemies, if the conflict is to be resolved.
Participants will be split into groups and assigned a nation. This is a fun opportunity to test your negotiation and consensus building styles, as well as meet new folks from the CCWA community! Please note that there is a small amount of pre-reading that will be sent to participants in advance in order to maximize our time together.
The Ukrainian Museum and Archives has generously opened their space to us for this event. Founded in 1952, they have done excellent work preserving and sharing Ukrainian culture and their immigrant experience. Rather than a registration fee, we kindly suggest a donation of $15 to the UMA — click here to donate.
