DESCRIPTION:This event has been cancelled. If possible\, we will reschedule at a later date in the season. \nJoin us on Thursday\, April 2 for our third annual Global Gauntlet World Trivia Challenge! Teams of up to four compete to answer questions that test your knowledge of international affairs\, current events\, and foreign policy. Topics include landmarks around the globe\, geography and country flags\, world history\, top news stories\, and more. SUMMARY:The Global Challenge of Climate Change and The Role of China
DESCRIPTION:Event canceled due to COVID-19. \nThe 2019-2020 Foreign Policy Forum series is presented by Hitachi Healthcare Americas. \nClimate change is a global challenge that surpasses borders\, impacts our entire world and affects every country. With changing weather patterns\, rising sea levels\, and higher rates of extreme weather events\, climate change continues to disrupt lives and communities\, as well as negatively impact economies. As we celebrate Earth Day this year\, join the Cleveland Council on World Affairs and Barbara Finamore\, Senior Strategist at the Natural Resource Defense Council\, for a discussion of the challenges that climate change poses internationally and the ability of great world powers to face these challenges. In particular\, can China’s climate turnaround and transition to clean energy move the global community forward in the fight against climate change? \n \n  \nBarbara Finamore is a Senior Strategist in the Asia Program at the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC). Finamore has nearly four decades of experience in environmental law and energy policy. In 1996\, she founded NRDC’s China Program.
