SUMMARY:21st Century Changemakers: Strengthening American Corners Programming in the Face of Global Change
DESCRIPTION:Librarians and American Corners managers from Belarus\, Estonia\, Hungary\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, Moldova\, Poland\, Slovakia\, and Ukraine will be in Cleveland to explore best practices in library management and strategies for promoting media literacy and civil society. Throughout their program in Northeast Ohio\, visitors will meet with the Cleveland Public Library\, Cuyahoga County Public Library\, The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning\, MC2STEM High School\, Think[Box]\, and the City of Solon Community Center. \nInternational Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program \nEach year\, over 300 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State\, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields. DESCRIPTION:Through this project\, Pakistani visitors will explore start-ups and business incubation in the U.S. and the involvement of both the private and public sectors. Small business in Northeast Ohio is tightly entwined with job creation and empowerment of entrepreneurs.
