This interactive and introspective course is built around three key program pillars: leadership development\, global competency\, and international exchange. \nWe know that Cleveland LEADS\, and we want YOU to join us in developing the leaders of the future! \nWho Should Apply \nCleveland LEADS is for early to mid-career professionals who are interested in developing their global competencies and becoming more internationally-minded leaders. SUMMARY:The United Nations in a Changing World
DESCRIPTION:The past year has shown that global issues of climate change\, pandemics\, and great power struggles will require greater international cooperation across borders. Stéphane Dujarric\, Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General\, will address the role of the UN in this changing world\, and its ongoing efforts to foster and strengthen global cooperation.  What can the International Community do to better address growing global challenges while continuing to seek to prevent war and conflict? \n \n  \nStéphane Dujarric is the Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres. He was appointed to this position in February of 2014 by the previous Secretary-General of the United Nations\, Ban Ki-moon. Dujarric had previously served as Spokesman for United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan from 2005 to 2006. SUMMARY:A Look at Immigration & Global Migration: Resources for Educators
DESCRIPTION:Join the Cleveland Council on World Affairs for an hour-long virtual session on issues of immigration and global migration. We invite middle school and high school teachers (grade 7-12) to participate in the session and explore the history of immigration to the United States and current U.S. policy\, as well as the issue of the global refugee crisis. We will share lesson plans\, resources\, and tools for educators to address this challenging topic in their classrooms. DESCRIPTION:Show the World How… Cleveland LEADS \nDo you have what it takes to be a leader in an increasingly globalized world? \nHow do topics such as global awareness\, international complexity and diversity\, intercultural understanding\, and global competency impact what we do everyday in Greater Cleveland? \nHow can young professionals shape the region of Northeast Ohio through a more global lens? \nThe Cleveland LEADS program seeks to answer these questions through a 10-week course that draws on subject matter experts and invites young professionals aged 20-35 to explore their own leadership style and how they can become more globally-minded leaders. This interactive and introspective course is built around three key program pillars: leadership development\, global competency\, and international exchange. \nWe know that Cleveland LEADS\, and we want YOU to join us in developing the leaders of the future! \nWho Should Apply \nCleveland LEADS is for early to mid-career professionals who are interested in developing their global competencies and becoming more internationally-minded leaders.
