SUMMARY:Dinner Hosting: Spain- Advancing the Integration of Unaccompanied Minors
DESCRIPTION:CCWA is looking for internationally minded individuals and families to host international exchange participants for dinner on October 1st. \nParticipants are in Cleveland on an exchange project called “Advancing the Integration of Foreign Unaccompanied Minors”. Participants are from Spain. This project is part of the U.S. Department of State’s Interantional Visitors Leadership Program. \nDinner Hosting FAQ \nNo need for an elaborate multi-course meal. Dinner does not need to be expensive and can be done as easily as you’d like. A potluck or a catered meal are also possibilities. Schedule pending\, a weekend brunch or lunch may also be arranged.\nThe more the merrier. You’re welcome to invite family members or friends to help welcome your international guests.\nWho’s coming to dinner? Groups range from 2 – 5 visitors—an interpreter may be included\, too. Background information will be provided typically one week in advance. This includes visitor name\, profession\, and dietary restrictions. \nSign me up! To host this group\, please contact Maria Garcia-Olalla at mgarciaolalla@ccwa.org. \nWe ask first time hosts to fill out a Citizen Diplomat profile form here. SUMMARY:Homestay Hosting: American Leadership Exchange for Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:CCWA will host a group of 12 students (ages 18-19) from Ukraine through the American Leadership Exchange Program (ALEX) sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and American Councils for International Exchange. The program will focus on leadership development and will take place October 26 – November 2\, 2023. We are seeking Homestay Hosts who can welcome 1-2 students into their home from October 26 – November 2\, 2023.  \nFor interested hosts: Each student must have their own bed\, though they may share a room with a student of the same gender. (Air mattresses are not permitted.) We ask that students be provided breakfast and that they be included in family meals in the evening. On weekdays\, students will engage in educational programming with transportation and lunches provided by CCWA. Students will have the weekend and most evenings free to spend time with their host families.
