SUMMARY:Forced Labor in Global Supply Chains: A rapidly evolving regulatory environment
DESCRIPTION:Join CCWA for a series of webinars focused on current developments in international trade and economics. Designed for a business audience\, but open to all\, webinars will cover the relevant legal and regulatory context\, recent and ongoing developments\, risks and opportunities\, and why this topic is relevant to the Cleveland community. \nSome of Northeast Ohio’s most important industries\, including automotive\, aerospace\, and industrial and manufacturing materials\, have been targeted by the U.S. government for enforcement of trade laws banning the import of goods made with forced labor. More than $3.7 billion in goods have been stopped at the U.S. border since the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act went into effect in 2022\, and the Trump Administration has emphasized its intent to continue enforcement. What do Cleveland-area companies need to know about this and similar laws\, and where is this effort headed? \nThis program is the third session of a four-part webinar series. See below for details on the other webinars! \n\nSession 1\, January 22\, 2026: Tariffs and Trade Agreements: Navigating unprecedented change\nSession 2\, February 26\, 2026: Renegotiation of the US-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement: The future of trade with our neighbors\nSession 4\, April 23\, 2026: Critical Minerals and Chinese Export Controls: Impacts on U.S. business
