Workforce Development through the Community College Model

January 18, 2015 - January 22, 2015

Visitors from Brazil, Cambodia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa are coming to Cleveland to partake in dialogue about the challenges of reducing unemployment while addressing the issue of critical shortages in skilled U.S. employees in manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and other fields.  Their program will highlight the changing nature of jobs, work, and the workplace in the United States and how institutions of higher education must reflect this reality in their approach to workforce development.

International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program

Each year, over 250 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields.  Over 50 Nobel Laureates and 335 current or former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are alumni of this program.

By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information, contact Ryan Ouellette, International Visitors Program Officer, at or click here.  To get involved as a Citizen Diplomat, click here
