Women’s Innovations in Science and Entrepreneurship (WISE)
April 18, 2016 - April 21, 2016
The Cleveland Council on World Affairs looks forward to welcoming visitors from the Near East and North Africa this April for the project “Women’s Innovations in Science and Entrepreneurship” (WISE). This project will examine women’s contributions to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through research and development, education and teaching, leadership, entrepreneurship, and public policy formation.
Through visits to the wealth of resources Cleveland has to offer regarding STEM and entrepreneurship, visitors will review the evolution and advancement of U.S. in scientific research and innovation; examine public private partnerships that facilitate professional networks and cooperation among women in STEM; and illustrate policies, organizations , and educational institutions that champion the interests of women in STEM and entrepreneurship.
International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program
Each year, over 250 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields. Over 50 Nobel Laureates and 335 current or former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are alumni of this program.
By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural, and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information, contact Katie Ferman, Program Officer, at email@example.com or click here. To get involved as a Citizen Diplomat, click here.
