WEAmericas Program for Women Entrepreneurs
September 26, 2015 - September 30, 2015
In support of the Women’s Entrepreneurship in the Americas (WEAmericas) initiative, launched at the 2012 Summit of the Americas, this IVLP focuses on expanding social and economic opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Participants will examine ways in which the United States fosters the advancement of women in business. They will explore a variety of mentorship, job shadowing, education, and skills development programs offered by government, colleges and universities, corporations, businesses, and private sector associations to prepare women for leadership roles and to be successful owners and managers of small, medium, and large businesses. The project will showcase programs that provide access to business capital, markets, digital literacy and technical skills, women’s business networks, and assistance with business promotion and marketing. Cleveland has the honor of hosting entrepreneurs from Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and Uruguay for this exciting program.
International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program
Each year, over 250 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields. Over 50 Nobel Laureates and 335 current or former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are alumni of this program.
By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural, and educational ties with the rest of the world.
