TESOL Exchange Program through the English Access Microscholarship Program
March 14, 2017 - March 19, 2017
The Cleveland Council on World Affairs is hosting a State Department-sponsored TESOL Exchange Program as part of the English Access Microscholarship Program that is designed to explore development of educational curriculum to teach English and best practices in teaching methodology. Coming to Cleveland to learn about the city’s English language development is a group from the Dominican Republic, Jordan, Nepal, Palestinian Territories, and Vietnam. The participants will examine Cleveland’s best practices for enhancing the English language development in a multi-lingual community. During their time in Cleveland, the participants will meet with Cleveland Metropolitan School District administrators in order to examine multi-lingual education, classroom interaction, and English curricula. Furthermore, participants will visit Thomas Jefferson International Academy, one of CMSD’s high performing schools that is known for its multi-cultural and multi-lingual education. Visitors will also have the chance to participate in various cultural activities and enjoy a home hospitality dinner in the homes of local Cleveland residents.
By connecting with foreign leaders, we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural, and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information about this program, or to host visitors in your home for dinner on Friday, March 17th, please contact Program Officer Katie Ferman at firstname.lastname@example.org or click here.
