Spotlight on Turkey: Teacher Workshop & International Education Opportunity
April 9, 2016 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

This all-day interactive workshop will be a deep dive into the history, politics and the culture of Turkey. Open to full-time high school educators, the workshop will establish a strong knowledge of Turkey and will build cultural and global competencies, which can be utilized in the classroom. Contact hours for license renewal are available.
Admission to the program is free but registration is required.
Location: Julka Hall, Room 395, Cleveland State University, 2485 Euclid Ave.
Important Note: The Turkish Cultural Foundation, the funder for our workshop and the in-country expenses related to the Teacher Study Tour, has decided to cancel the Study Tour to Turkey due to the recent tragic events in Turkey. Security concerns and general instability in the country made arranging the elements of the tour, which includes extensive in-country travel, too uncertain.
While this news will be quite disappointing to some of you who were hoping to qualify for the Study Tour, the Cleveland Council on World Affairs remains committed to holding the workshop and providing quality educational content on Turkey.
Registration for this event is now closed. If you would like to attend, please contact Melanie Furey at mfurey@ccwa.org or 216-255-9010.
