Responsible Global Investing
May 31, 2017 - June 6, 2017
Addressing the international efforts to strengthen the integrity of governments and businesses, this IVLP delegation from the People’s Republic of China will be in Cleveland to explore perspectives on business ethics and strategies to reduce corruption. Over the course of six days, visitors will meet with well-known leaders in corporate social responsibility including the Greater Cleveland Partnership, Timken, Cleveland Clinic, and Hyland Software. A panel conversation with the Inamori International Center for Ethics and the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit will address real-world examples on how to promote ethical business practices. In addition, a meeting with Professor Timothy Webster, Director of Legal Studies at Case Western Reserve University, and Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP will focus on Chinese investment practices and international law. A community engagement activity with MedWish International will allow visitors to volunteer alongside Clevelanders and learn firsthand the importance of corporate volunteerism.
International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program
Each year, over 250 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields. Over 50 Nobel Laureates and 335 current or former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are alumni of this program.
By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural, and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information, contact Katie Ferman, Program Officer, at email@example.com or click here. To get involved as a Citizen Diplomat, click here.
