Promoting Social Change Through the Arts
May 29, 2014 - June 3, 2014

Visitors from multiple regions will visit Cleveland to examine the arts and artistic expression in the United States as a vehicle for promoting social change in communities. Visits to established art centers as well as to smaller, community-supported arts programs will help to illustrate the various ways in which the arts can convey identity, creativity, belief systems, diversity and tolerance within American society.
International Visitors Program
Each year, over 300 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through the Council’s short and long-term exchange programs. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, International Visitors hosted by the Cleveland Council on World Affairs have been identified by U.S. embassies abroad as emerging leaders in their fields. The Council’s staff and volunteer “citizen diplomats” organize professional meetings, cultural events and home visits for program participants.
By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information, contact Ryan Ouellette, International Visitors Program Officer, at rouellette@ccwa.ccwa.org
