Power Sector Modernization
March 27, 2018 - March 31, 2018
With a number of cutting edge energy and power generation technologies in Northeast Ohio, Cleveland will host a group of 11 Iraqi government and energy officials who are here to gain an understanding of the United States power sector. Visitors will be exposed to infrastructure, policies, regulations, economic factors, and renewable energy technologies that are housed in Northeast Ohio. Visits with Cleveland Public Power and the Microgrid Partnership Project will detail public-private relations within the energy sector. Meetings with Vadxx and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will further expound upon renewable technologies that fit into state and national regulations. Finally, the International Association for Energy Economics and First Energy’s GridManagement will emphasize strategies for capital investment and energy distribution in the area.
International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program
Each year, over 300 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields. Over 50 Nobel Laureates and 335 current or former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are alumni of this program.
By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural, and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information, contact Katie Ferman, Program Officer, at firstname.lastname@example.org or click here. To get involved as a Citizen Diplomat, click here.
