September 23, 2015 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
This seminar will consider the geopolitical and other implications of two fundamental changes to the business of petroleum extraction–that of shale and arctic petroleum development. The impact of both these activities, enabled through technological innovation, is changing the global energy security paradigm.
Dr. Tina Hunter, Reader in Energy Law at the Aberdeen University Centre for Energy Law, has presented at over 50 conferences on three continents and has consulted to governments, industry groups, and NGOs worldwide. She has authored or edited several books, including the upcoming Handbook of Shale Gas Law and Policy (Intersentia) and Regulation of the Upstream Petroleum Sector (Edward Elgar 2015). She has studied geology, political science, and law, having completed her Ph.D. at the University of Bergen, Norway.
