Legislative Professional Fellows Program for India and Pakistan
October 18, 2016 - November 14, 2016
As an extension of the first cohort of Legislative Professional Fellows from India and Pakistan that CCWA welcomed to Cleveland in May, CCWA will be hosting 4 more LFP fellows for four weeks during the last half of October and the first half of November, 2016. The Legislative Professional Fellows Program brings emerging leaders in the fields of legislative process and governance; civic engagement; NGO management; economic empowerment and entrepreneurship; and journalism from Pakistan and India to the United States for intensive fellowships designed to broaden their professional expertise. During this time, fellows receive hands-on exposure to national legislative offices, state legislatures, local government offices, businesses, and non-profit organizations through carefully designed full-time fellowships. At the conclusion of their fellowships, participants travel to Washington, DC, for a three-day Professional Fellows Congress, where they have the opportunity to engage with more than 270 Professional Fellows from around the world.
Cleveland’s second cohort of LFP fellows will be conducting their fellowships with the Mayor’s Office of Equal Opportunity for the City of Cleveland; Case Western Reserve University’s Social Justice Institute; St. Clair Superior Development Corporation; and Us Together, Inc., a mutual assistance refugee resettlement agency. Please contact Katie Ferman at email@example.com or (216) 255-9006 for more information or to volunteer to be part of this cultural exchange opportunity.
