Improving the Management of Municipal Sold Waste: A Project for Indonesia
November 30, 2016 - December 4, 2016
Waste management systems are not something that is typically thought of when considering human services, yet it is critically important to any city’s infrastructure. The government of Solo City in Indonesia has been under immense pressure to improve its waste management functions and government officials will be exploring creative solutions to this topic while in Cleveland. While here visitors will learn about creating sustainable energy through waste products, green initiatives from local trash management businesses, and the City of Cleveland’s action plan to promote advanced renewable energy sources. Throughout their visit, the visitors will tour facilities, meet with innovative leaders, and discuss programs designed to improve the municipal solid waste management in Solo City.
