Health Challenges in Kuwait

February 8, 2015 - February 12, 2015

With approximately 75% of the Kuwait population categorized as either overweight or obese, 25% of the population suffering from Type 2 diabetes, and heart disease and other non-communicable diseases on the rise, Kuwait’s healthcare system faces serious challenges. This project, with visitors from Kuwait, will share how the U.S. public and private sectors are combating non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, alcoholism, smoking and drug addiction.

International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program

Each year, over 250 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields.  Over 50 Nobel Laureates and 335 current or former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are alumni of this program.

By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information, contact Ryan Ouellette, International Visitors Program Officer, at rouellette@ccwa.org or click here.  To get involved as a Citizen Diplomat, click here
