Global Economic Cooperation and Revitalization

June 7, 2015 - June 10, 2015

Our first international visitors program for the summer will include visitors representing seven different countries around the world. Hailing from Algeria, Chile, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Taiwan, and Yemen, these enterprising leaders in the fields of business and economics will be traveling to Cleveland to learn about global economic revitalization. During their visits to a local accelerator, a Cleveland-based university, and an industrial training center – among others – they will learn about how Cleveland has been undergoing a renaissance from a traditional “Rust Belt” city to a hub for business and innovation.

International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program

Each year, over 250 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields.  Over 50 Nobel Laureates and 335 current or former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are alumni of this program.

By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural, and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information, contact Ryan Ouellette, Senior Program Officer, at or click here. To get involved as a Citizen Diplomat, click here.
