Global Arts Community Performance
August 10, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Enjoy watching, sharing, and interacting as international visitors showcase their passions for artistic expression at the Global Arts Community Performance!
CCWA is excited to welcome an international delegation devoted to empowering youth through the performing arts! Hailing from Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, this diverse group of artistic professionals ranging from puppeteers to arts educators will focus on the importance of the arts in promoting peace and tolerance within our community. Through this program and performance, they strive to create a platform for youth engagement and multi-cultural understanding.
The performance includes a showcase of the following artists’ work:
Shoghakat Mlke-Galstyan, Armenia: Presentation of film and pictures
Adnan Al-Ahmed, Bahrain: Presentation of artwork and paintings
Sabbir Khan, Bangladesh: Dance performance
Ibrahim Ceesay, Gambia: Presentation of documentary trailers
Ibrahim Al-Awamleh, Jordan: Presentation of cartoons
In addition, several of the guests will present an improvisation performance.
The performance will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, a historic landmark and former stop on the Underground Railroad that today serves as a center for artistic expression. CCWA hopes to further St. John’s mission by connecting our community with artists from around the world who are dedicated to empowering communities and promoting peace and open-mindedness through the arts.
