Community Connections Belarus: Expanding Civic Participation

September 7, 2016 - September 28, 2016

In September, CCWA welcomes 10 nonprofit professionals from Belarus who are here to examine the topic of expanding civic participation and how public-private partnerships, in conjunction with community engagement, fuel a city’s growth and development. This will be the third consecutive year CCWA has hosted this program through USAID and World Learning.

A critical component for the success of this program is the opportunity for the visitors to experience American culture and values by staying with an American family. Homestays break down preconceived ideas and help to forge lasting relationships. Hosts for this program will provide overnight accommodations, breakfast and dinner during the month of September. On the weekdays, visitors will attend meetings and participate in strategic planning, while weekends and most evenings are free for enjoying time with the international visitor!

The Community Connections Belarus program is only possible with the generosity of local hosts to welcome an international guest to their home. Please consider participating in this cultural exchange opportunity! Please contact Katie Ferman at or (216) 255-9006 for more information or to volunteer.
