The Cleveland Council on World Affairs is honored to welcome a visiting group from Kazakhstan to participate in the program “American Libraries.” The program will feature four library directors and deputy directors that work closely with the American Corners Program abroad. Sponsored by the State Department, in collaboration with U.S. embassies and host institutions, the American Corners Program aims to expose foreign countries to U.S. culture. While in Cleveland, the visitors will explore the latest technology as well as the most efficient library practices in the U.S., providing them with new, innovative practices to implement at home. The exchange will support and foster the strong relationship and cultural exchange promoted by the American Corners Program.
International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program
Each year, over 300 professionals from around the world visit Northeast Ohio through IVLP. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these visitors have been identified by U.S. embassies as emerging leaders in their fields. Over 50 Nobel Laureates and 335 current or former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are alumni of this program.
By connecting with foreign leaders we strengthen Northeast Ohio’s commercial, cultural, and educational ties with the rest of the world. For more information, contact Katie Ferman, Program Officer, at firstname.lastname@example.org or click here. To get involved as a Citizen Diplomat, click here.
