Sponsor a Student
Sponsoring a student is an incredible way for you to impact a student from your area. For only $30, you will give a student access to the people who make foreign policy happen. Your donation will cover the cost for one student to attend a Cleveland Council on World Affairs program and help broaden their international insight. What better way to spend $30?
Bridges to the World
Bring the World to Your Classroom
In working with the Council’s International Visitor program and our impressive speakers program, we are proud to bring visiting professionals, diplomats, educators, and politicians to area high schools. These international visitors have expressed interest in observing education practices in the U.S. and these visits also provide a great opportunity for students to meet interesting individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Your Students at CCWA Events
Students will be invited to listen to speakers in selected programs. Student briefings will allow students to dialogue with the visiting speaker to ask relevant questions. Students are expected to have questions (not statements) prepared and to be ready for participation. When possible, schools will receive a packet of background information on the speaker/topic at the events.
Students represent the Cleveland area and must demonstrate respect to the speaker and his/her views. Dress code for students attending an event should adhere to the school dress code. Teachers are expected to prepare students prior to the event, and to effectively supervise students during the event.
If you are a Cleveland area teacher and would like your students to attend a World Affairs Council event, please contact Richard Crepage by email
rcrepage@ccwa.org or at (216) 781-3730. Please be aware that student tickets are limited and will be distributed on a first come/first serve basis.
