Graciela Chichilnisky
Biodiversity and the Global Market: Opportunities and Solutions
Keynote speaker Graciela Chichilnisky has extensive experience in international policy, economics and policy making with respect to climate change. Dr. Chichilnisky holds the UNESCO Chair of Mathematics and Economics and is a Professor of Statistics at Columbia University. She has been one of the forerunners in developing initiatives for the Kyoto Protocol and has been invited to give the keynote address to the bi-annual UN Biodiversity convention in Bonn this spring. Dr. Chichilnisky was the primary author of the greenhouse gas “cap and trade” system which became part of the Kyoto Protocol. Her most recent book is entitled Beyond the Global Divide: From Basic Needs to the Knowledge Revolution.
