Global Crossroads Lecture Series - Lecture Two
Pierre-Yves Dugua
How Do the French See Us?
This lecture is made possible in part by the
European unification has brought about great change in the way we see Europe as a whole, yet individual countries retain certain stereotypical attributes for Americans. French movies are still romantic and true champagne is decidedly French. There seem to be continuous tensions between the U.S. and France, however. As he is both French and American, Pierre-Yves Dugua is in an optimum position to examine the interesting love-hate relationship between France and the U.S. Dugua is an economics correspondent in the U.S. for the daily newspaper Le Figaro and his reporting is heard daily on French radio channels Radio France and Radio France Internationale. The discussion will be très intéressante!
