Dynamic Democracy- A Central and South Asian Perspective
Moderated by Tom Beres, Channel 3 News, Senior Political Correspondent
The Cleveland Council on World Affairs invites you to become not just an audience member, but an active contributor in the discussion among our distinguished Legislative Fellows from Central and South Asia. The Legislative Fellows Program is an exchange, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, intended to strengthen the understanding of the US legislative process and civil society's role in the political process, and to foster relationships among Central and South Asian and American leaders.
Our guests from Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, India, and Nepal will interact with Clevelanders in this public forum about the dynamics of democracy and their perceptions. A large portion of time will be allotted for questions and answers, so take advantage of this unique opportunity.
From April 10th – May 2nd these Fellows will be in Cleveland for professional development and internships at a variety of governmental offices and living with local hosts. After being submersed in American culture and democracy for two weeks in Cleveland, they’ll be speaking about their perceptions here and back home. This is your chance to hear first-hand from representatives from a part of the world that will be increasingly important to American interests in the immediate future.
